Superior Guide Service is based in Sonoma County, one hour north of San Francisco, California, in the heart of redwood and wine country. We are one to six hours from some of the greatest coastal river fishing in the country. We offer salmon, steelhead, trout and some shad fishing.

We are a full service operation. We pride ourselves in providing the finest, top-of-the-line equipment including rain tops to keep you warm and dry. We specialize in drift boat fishing. Trips can focus on conventional gear, fly fishing, or both. We offer one and two day guided trips in a 17-foot Willie's Guide Model Drift Boat, equipped with heater and canopy to keep you warm and dry when the weather is bad and the fish are biting.

Our 17 foot Willie Guide Model Boat seats three guests. We use only quality tackle, bait (Howard's special blend of roe), lures, plugs, jig feathers and rubber worms to catch the fish of a lifetime. All bait, tackle, rods and reels are supplied.

We're excited to share that Superior Guide Service is moving business to the next level! I just got back from Portland, Oregon where I picked up a jet boat, a 19x72 Alumaweld flat bottom guide model boat. With the jet I will be able to fish the rivers for Salmon now. We will be in the Sacramento river system, along with its tribs. The season should start up July 16, 2012. I might be up on the Klamath, Rogue & Chetco rivers for springers too. Pending fish and game approval, I am going to fish the upper Sacramento, the Feather and American rivers for Trout also. My wife is going to help with the bookings and running the business with me.

As some of you know LeAnn and I are looking for some property on the Rogue River to start a small  fishing lodge that we can run ourselves. She is a great cook and the love of my life. As it stands I am getting ready to end my career in the fire service so now its time to start the second phase of Superior Guide Service. Thank you for your support through all these years.
